SOMERSET, NJ-P&R Fasteners has given Solis Partners a turnkey contract to install a rooftop solar power generation system on its corporate headquarters here, located at 325 Pierce St. P&R Fasteners, a contract manufacturer of specialty metal products, will install a 254.8-kilowatt rooftop PV system, which will be deployed on its 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and offset approximately 99% of the building’s annual electrical load.

“We recognize the growing awareness and demand for environmentally proactive practices from our customers, partners and employees and believe this project is representative of P&R’s commitment to meeting them,” says Douglas Joyce, corporate controller at P&R Fasteners. “After a comprehensive assessment, we determined a solar PV project would be the best way to further our sustainability objectives.”

Designed, engineered and constructed by Solis, the solar array will consist of Solyndra PV panels that are designed to optimize solar electricity production on commercial rooftops. The system will consist of 1,400 panels that will generate approximately 295,000 kilowatt hours of electricity and eliminate more than 400,000 pounds of CO2 emissions annually.
