DENVER-CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. has appointed Ray Pittman as senior managing director and market leader for CBRE’s business lines throughout the State of Colorado. Pittman is rejoining CBRE, the company where he spent 15 years of his early commercial real estate career.

“Ray is an innovative, strategic thinker who has right skills, market knowledge and passion to take our market leadership position in Colorado to the next level,” says Steve Swerdlow, president of the western division for CBRE. “As a former CBRE executive, and more recently as a client of our firm, we know firsthand how Ray’s energetic leadership style and his values will enhance our efforts.”

Most recently, he was the president and founder of Pittman Development Co. Inc., a development and investment firm that has been involved in some of Colorado’s largest and most prominent commercial and mixed-use projects, including High Point, a 1,800-acre mixed-use community near Denver International Airport.

Prior to founding Pittman Development Group, Pittman served as Colorado’s senior vice president and regional manager for Catellus Development Corp. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the development business, including acquisitions and dispositions, marketing, sales and leasing, project design, construction management, project financing and community and government relations.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to CBRE at such an exciting time for the company,” says Pittman. “I’m looking forward to getting back into a high-energy, corporate environment and working with the professionals here to deliver CBRE’s comprehensive platform of services to our clients throughout Colorado.”

A long-time resident of the Denver area, Pittman is actively involved in the community, including serving as past board chairman of the Aurora Economic Development Council and as an active member of Colorado Concern, a business leadership group representing Colorado business owners and CEOs. Other organizations in which he has been active in leadership roles include the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp., the Jefferson Economic Council and the DIA Business Partnership. He was also a founding board member of High Point Academy Charter School and is very involved with the Board of SOAR Charter Schools.
