SOMERSET, NJ-Russo Development is now revealing plans for Somerset Technology Park, a data center that will be built on 71 acres near Exit 12 of Interstate 287. Russo recently acquired the greenfield site, which can accommodate up to 1.3 million square feet. Currently in the entitlement phase, the project is expected begin site work in the second quarter of this year. The first facility should be delivered in the second half of 2012.

“New Jersey is one of the top data center markets in the country as evidenced by its significant market growth over the past five years,” says Michael Pembroke, senior vice president of leasing and marketing of Russo Development. “Its proximity to Manhattan and lower relative utility and development costs keeps New Jersey well positioned to continue its expansion in this specialized property type.”

Russo is partnering with Sentinel Data Centers. This site will mark Russo’s ninth data center development in the past 10 years. Previous projects include build-to-suit facilities for companies such as Credit Suisse, NYSE Euronext, JP Morgan Chase and SunGard Availability Services.
