Sechser Rejoins G&E as SVP, Retail Group

WALNUT CREEK, CA-John Sechser has rejoined Grubb & Ellis Co.’s Walnut Creek office as senior vice president of the retail group. Sechser is the latest professional to join the company’s growing Bay Area operations. 

During 2010, the company recruited nine retail professionals and a total of 29 professionals to the company’s Walnut Creek, San Francisco and San Francisco Peninsula offices. One of the latest new hires, as GlobeSt.com previously reported, was John Dolby as senior vice president of the office group. Jack Van Berkel, chief operating officer and president of real estate services, tells GlobeSt.com that the hiring in the Bay Area is part of the company’s larger strategy to upgrade its talent and increase its presence in key markets throughout the country. The company began aggressively recruiting talent into the organization in July 2008 as a way to ensure that when the market recovered Grubb & Ellis would be positioned to better service clients and capture market share. Throughout this time period, Grubb & Ellis recruited more than 250 senior-level professionals into the organization, with 122 recruited in 2010.
