NEW YORK CITY-Blame for this month’s near government shutdown is, for the most part, spread evenly among Democrats and Republicans, a GlobeSt.com poll shows.

Last week readers were asked “Who’s responsible for the near government shutdown?” Fourty-four percent blamed both parties, 23% blamed the Republicans, 29% blamed the Democrats, and 4% indicated that the issue transcended partisan bickering.

The results remind Bob White, president and founder of Real Capital Analytics, of a report that he saw this past weekend on sagging Congressional approval ratings. Gallup numbers released last week put Congressional job approval at 17%, not far off its all-time low of 13% from December 2010.
