NEW YORK CITY-Two top-notch journalists have joined ALM’s Real Estate Media Group, the publisher of GlobeSt.com and Real Estate Forum, and another seasoned veteran has taken on a new role within the editorial department, content director John Salustri has announced. The result, says Salustri, is a further “strengthening of our national; New Jersey; New York; Washington, DC; and Florida markets.”
Four-year GlobeSt veteran Paul Bubny, who is currently Northeast editor for GlobeSt.com, has assumed a national chair as managing editor of Real Estate Forum, reporting to editor-in-chief Sule Aygoren Carranza. In his new role, he will be sourcing and writing national features as well as managing the expanded departments of the magazine, currently celebrating its 65th anniversary.
“I’ve worked with Paul over the past few years when he has contributed to Forum,” comments Aygoren Carranza, “and it will be a pleasure to have his high level of skill, industry knowledge and overall professionalism applied to Forum on a regular basis.”
Paul’s former GlobeSt position has been broadened to East Coast editor, and veteran reporter Carl Gaines has been tapped to fill it. Gaines, who comes to the position from stints at Crain’s New York Business and Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, will produce news and analysis of the New York Metro market for GlobeSt and Real Estate Forum. In addition, he will oversee the news and feature content flowing from our various East Coast Bureaus. These include: New Jersey (covered by Debra Hazel); Washington, DC (covered by Erika Morphy); and the Southeast (covered by Jennifer LeClaire).
Joining Gaines in that coverage area is newly hired Jacqueline Hlavenka as Northeast reporter. Hlavenka comes to ALM from a post as staff writer at The Independent, covering Monmouth County, NJ. Prior to that post, she was an intern at Conde Nast.
“We have a stellar editorial team,” says group vice president Michael G. Desiato. “And our readers, both in print and online, know we are the only game in town if they want serious, in-depth journalism and not just smiling mug shots. Carl Gaines, Jacqueline Hlavenka and, in his new position, Paul Bubny, increase our bench strength in the critical East Coast and national markets.”
