FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-Kenneth Krasnow is heading south. Krasnow is joining CB Richard Ellis as managing director overseeing the brokerage’s Broward and Palm Beach County offices. Rick Miller, who was overseeing these two offices, will rejoin the firm’s South Florida brokerage team.

Krasnow brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate services to the CBRE table. Most recently, Krasnow was managing director at Massey Knakal Realty Services, an investment sales firm in New York City. Krasnow is credited with stabilizing the firm’s Brooklyn office—and increasing its market share by a third. Krasnow was also responsible for firm-wide marketing and public relations. Massey Knakal Realty could not immediately be reached for comment.

“Ken brings to our South Florida operations solid real estate experience coupled with a superb track record of leadership,” says Mary Jo Eaton, senior managing director for CBRE overseeing the State of Florida. “As market conditions show signs of improvement in South Florida, we are poised for growth. Ken will play an integral role in helping us leverage these opportunities and find ways to serve our clients even more effectively.”

In addition to his new managing director role, Krasnow will also offer strategic support to Eaton on business development and other ventures to grow the firm’s operations and market share in the South Florida region. Krasnow officially assumes the new role on May 16th and will work out of the Boca Raton office.

"CBRE is the recognized leader in commercial real estate, not only in Florida but worldwide,” Krasnow says. “With an improving economy, there will be meaningful opportunities ahead for our clients and employees, and I'm looking forward to the opportunity of leveraging my experience to help CBRE increase its brand dominance.”

Krasnow is no stranger to the South Florida market. Earlier in his career, Krasnow was COO at Apartment Realty Advisors in Boca Raton. There he doubled the brokerage staff and opened offices for the firm in Tampa and Orlando.

Krasnow has been around the block a few times in his long career. He previously held executive positions for Trammell Crow Corporation and Cushman & Wakefield in the New York City area. Krasnow was with Cushman for 18 years, overseeing the New York area profit center after successfully managing its New York suburban offices.

After the 9/11 attacks, Krasnow brought Cushman’s New York region back to record revenues of approximately $200 million. He began his career as a leasing broker at Cushman and was responsible for more than 3 million square feet of class A building agencies in New York City.
