GE Chooses Fort Worth for $96M Locomotive Factory

FORT WORTH-With the addition of the plant, North Texas can now claim that it produces planes, trains and automobiles.

FORT WORTH-GE Transportation will open a new locomotive manufacturing facility here, and with the addition of the plant, North Texas can now claim that it produces planes, trains and automobiles.

GE Transportation bought a 672,678-square-foot industrial building near Texas Motor Speedway and plans to invest $96 million in the new plant. The company plans to nearly double the size of the building, which is located at 12850 Three Wide Dr. The new facility will create more than 500 new high-tech manufacturing jobs with the potential to add 275 jobs in subsequent years.
