NEW YORK CITY-Homebuyers and agents rejoice. A new real estate listing technology from Point2 promises to reduce outdated and duplicated listings, SVP Saul Klein tells GlobeSt.com. “MLS Certified is a concept that came about over the last couple of years,” Klein says. As listings moved to the Internet, Klein says that Point2 identified a need.

“New biz models started to appear and they all had an interest in content--for sale data,” he says. “There were lots of pieces of listing information appearing on lots of different websites, which led to duplication, and confusion and so what Point2 did was go directly to multiple-listing services.” The regulation of these services--fines and governance--made them an attractive source for accurate, up-to-date information. “We distribute them across the web to those publishers interested in obtaining that information and brokers who were interested in having their data appear in those different places.”

MLS Certified is up and running now in Texas, Klein says. Over the next six months or so it will roll out to all of Point2’s MLS partners--in areas across the country.
