PARAMUS, NJ–Retail leasing is picking up around New Jersey, according to the Goldstein Group, which announced 10 new leases around the state. The new deals range in size from 1,400 square feet to 50,000 square feet.

“We have seen an increase in retailers looking to open stores over the past few months with many landlords and tenants relying on us to help them,” says Chuck Lanyard, president of Goldstein, in a statement. “The activity within our office has increased and numerous other deals are in process.”

The deals are: Kumon Education, 1,400 square feet in Paramus, with Goldstein representing the tenant and landlord Paramus Center Partnership LLC; Muscle Maker Grill, 1,500 square feet in Lodi; Great Clips, 1,650 square feet at Carlstadt, Garden Shopping Center, with Goldstein representing owner Carlstadt Gardens LLC; and Batteries Plus, 2,000 square feet at Galleria Shopping Center in Manalapan, with Goldstein representing the tenant.

Other notable deals include: Francesco’s Restaurant, 2,200 square feet at Cushetunk Manor in Whitehouse, with Goldstein representing both the tenant and landlord Winfield Management Corp.; Pupre Venture Dance Studio, 2,250 square feet at Lofts at Garwood in Garwood, with Goldstein representing landlord Lofts at Garwood II; Orsini Dinettes, 4,000 square feet in Howell, with Goldstein representing the tenant and landlord Freehold Lumber Co.; and Dollar General taking 10,000 square feet in Plainfield, with Goldstein representing both landlord AST Development and the tenant.

Lanyard previously mentioned that JoAnn Fabrics leased 30,000 square feet in a CompUSA building in Paramus, with Golstein representing Holobeam Inc. A similar deal was Ashley Furniture, leasing 50,000 square feet in a former Huffman Koos site in Eatontown, with Goldstein representing landlord Marconi Pacific LLC.
