FREEHOLD, NJ-The Monmouth County office market got its latest addition in Freehold Borough on Monday evening, as members from CB Richard Ellis, Clark-based developer the TAK Group and Englewood Cliffs-based lending firm Procida Advisors LLC celebrated the grand opening of the class A 40,378-square-foot Freehold Commons office building at 83 South St. in the borough’s downtown. The site, after gaining local approvals from the Freehold Borough Planning Board and Historic Preservation Committee, was designed to blend in with the historic character of the neighborhood, which includes the Hall of Records and the Monmouth County Courthouse.

“We had very positive feedback,” said Suzanne Macnow, FVP of CBRE’s East Brunswick office, in an interview with GlobeSt.com at Monday’s event. The opening attracted approximately 100 interested tenants to the site, such as professional service firms, law firms and an environmental company. “Everybody loved the building and what we have done with the lobby,” she said, which features historical interiors, monument signage and photographs, highlighting the town’s rich history as the county seat.

Located near routes 9, 33, 79 and 537, the three-story building is currently 25% leased with asking rents starting at $19.50 per square foot. Macnow describes the site as class A space at class B market rents. “The building is a great opportunity,” Macnow said. “We are probably the best deal in Freehold and we are the only new building here.”
