TRENTON-They’re on again--maybe. The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has yet again rescheduled public hearings to discuss the still unreleased 2011 New Jersey Energy Master Plan. The meetings are scheduled for July 26 in Newark; August 3 in Trenton; and August 11 in Pomona, NJ.

Meetings most recently scheduled for June were cancelled in mid-May, as the revisions to the 2008 plan remained unreleased. The most recent announcement from Governor promises to release the revisions “soon”

“To accomplish its goal of ensuring that New Jersey continues to have reliable energy at reasonable rates, the Board will soon release draft revisions to the 2008 Energy Master Plan via the BPU website and EMP listserv,” says the statement from the BPU, in wording identical to the notification of the Board’s canceling of the previous meeting.

The state is required by a 1997 law to update the energy master plan every three years, and the most recent plan was issued in 2008. The Christie Administration has been working on the update for several months.
