HOK Designs $135M Kettering Hospital

DAYTON, OH-Kettering Health Network hired HOK to come up with the plans for the six-story center and a 120,000-square-foot connecting MOB, as well as a ‘town square’ design.

DAYTON, OH-St. Louis-based architect firm HOK has designed a new $135 million new hospital for the Kettering Health Network here. The Indu and Raj Soin Medical Center, named after noted local philanthropists, is to feature a new “town square” concept that allows simple access by guests.

The six-story, 285,000-square-foot hospital will be built with an adjoining 120,000-square-foot medical office building, on 22 acres at Pentagon Boulevard and Royal Gateway Road. With 131 beds planned and expandable to 300 beds, the hospital will be completed by first quarter 2012. Other features will include emergency care, general surgery, cardiac care, a mother-baby unit, critical care, and medical imaging and diagnostic services. There’s also dedicated space for an additional tower, if needed.
