SOUTHFIELD, MI-Locally based Sun Communities Inc. has purchased most of the manufactured housing and recreational vehicle communities owned by entities controlled by Caledonia, MI-based Kentland Corp. for about $142.3 million. The 18 properties include one recreational vehicle property, and are all in western Michigan.

Sun is a real estate investment trust that owns and operates a portfolio of 155 communities comprising about 53,500 developed sites. This purchase adds more than 5,000 manufactured home sites and 281 recreational vehicle sites, including properties such as Holiday West Village in Holland, Sycamore Village in Mason, Apple Carr Village in Muskegon and Tamarac Village in Ludington.
