SAN MATEO, CA-Hillsdale Shopping Center is currently undergoing an extensive 80,000-square-foot renovation to the area previously occupied by Mervyn’s. The space will once again come to life with new and exciting shopping and dining options, according to a prepared statement.

The owners are the Bohannon Development Co., and according to a press representative, the renovation of the south end is a “multi-million dollar transformation.” Hillsdale Shopping Center is located on Sixty 31st Ave. off highway 101 at Hillsdale Blvd.

The transformation will feature San Mateo County's first Cheesecake Factory restaurant, a two-story Forever 21 mega store, and retail innovator H&M as anchors of the Center's south end. Hillsdale South is also seeing significant changes with the arrival of leading specialty footwear retailer DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, and recently opened Old Navy, says the release.

Additionally, Hillsdale welcomes two new retailers, skin care and hair care naturalist, Kiehl's and nationally known Kay Jewelers to the main Center as well as the newly renovated Children's Place. The Cheesecake Factory will feature more than 200 menu items, a full bar and 50-plus different cheesecakes and desserts. It is set to open late September 2011.

Joining Hillsdale's full line-up of retailers is H&M, opening in October 2011 located between the Cheesecake Factory and Forever 21. Forever 21 will move from its current location to a new, two-story 52,000-square-foot superstore, next to H&M, and expands its size. Opening November 2011, Forever 21's department store environment will be the largest in San Mateo County, according to a prepared statement.

DSW Designer Show Warehouse will open at Hillsdale South October 2011. The store will consist of 28,000 square feet and span two stories. It will be located next to Barnes & Noble Booksellers.

The center also has a newly opened Old Navy. Also, within the main Center, customers will enjoy three new shopping experiences, according to the statement: Kiehl's—Opening August 2011; Kay Jewelers—Now open; and the Children's Place—Reopens July 2011 with a new look.
