It might not be thought of as a traditional tenant by some, but the United States Postal Service does operate retail locations in shopping centers. So it's bad news for landlords that the post office is considering the closure of 3,700 branches.
Between the USPS and Blockbuster, there are likely to be a lot of weird spaces that either are or will become vacant soon.
Ironically, retail stores are helping put these outlets out of business. You can pick up stamps nearly everywhere now, and it's not too hard to find a place to mail something that's not a post office.
