NEW YORK CITY-CB Richard Ellis has promoted Matt Van Buren to president, New York Tri-State Region a little over two months after Mitchell Rudin left CBRE to join Brookfield Office Properties to serve as president and CEO of US commercial operations.

As GlobeSt.com reported, Van Buren had been filling Rudin’s spot on an interim basis, though Tuesday’s announcement made it official.

“Obviously I’m gratified by the confidence that Mike Lafitte, the president of our Americas business, has put in me,” Van Buren tells GlobeSt.com. “He was following our well-established succession plan here, so my appointment is the result of a thoughtful process at CBRE.”
