ALEXANDRIA, VA-The American Clean Skies Foundation is looking to reconstruct the Mirant Power Plant in Alexandria. The nonprofit group plans to replace the existing plant with a $450 million mixed-use development consisting of 200,000 square feet of retail and office space, a 125-room hotel, a new energy museum, 590 residential units and public space.

However, GenOn Energy Inc., which controls the plant, has no plans to close the plant. ACSF hopes to start the project in 2015. For the full story, go to Washington Business Journal .
