NEW YORK CITY-When Bush Terminal was first built in the early 1900s, the complex helped transform the Brooklyn waterfront into the first manufacturing, shipping and warehousing facility of its kind. Now, the 40-acre site is home to Industry City, a 6.5-million-square-foot industrial hub for artisans, craftsmen and high tech businesses, is currently undergoing a full-scale renovation to keep up with high demand on the site, GlobeSt.com has learned.

Industry City Associates says long-term renovations at the 16-building site will include repaving the streets that separate the property’s buildings, bulkhead renovations to the buildings that line the waterfront, installation of overhead power distribution and buss ducts, and a complete modernization of the property’s 150 elevators.
