NEW YORK CITY-After acquiring the fee interest in 1552 Broadway for $136.55 million earlier in the year, a joint venture of publicly-traded REIT SL Green Realty Corp. and retail titan Jeff Sutton has entered into a 70-year leasehold at 1560 Broadway in Midtown, a deal that further expands the JV’s Manhattan retail portfolio. Following these transactions, the JV plans to assemble up to 48,897 square feet of retail space that will be combined, upgraded and repositioned in the heart of Times Square here.
“The strategic combination of 1552 Broadway and 1560 Broadway will expand the square footage of a unique Times Square site in a way that dramatically increases the value and visibility of the space for both the retailer and landlord,” says Andrew Mathias, president of SL Green, in a statement.
