SACRAMENTO-Cushman & Wakefield has added Matt Cologna and Bryce MacDonald to the firm to provide industrial leasing and sales services in the Sacramento and Central Valley/San Joaquin markets. 15-year industry veteran, Cologna, has been named senior director, and MacDonald, with seven years of experience, will serve the firm as director.

Both professionals recently left Grubb & Ellis Co. “The addition of two senior brokers like Matt and Bryce enables us to deliver a higher caliber of service to our existing Industrial clients throughout the region,” says Ron Thomas, executive director and managing broker of Cushman & Wakefield’s Sacramento Office.

According to Thomas, “This hire is further evidence of our commitment to grow our industrial footprint and operate as a major player in the strategic Sacramento/Central Valley industrial market.” Grubb & Ellis only confirmed their departure from the firm, but declined to comment further on their move.

Joe Cook, executive vice president and area leader of Cushman & Wakefield’s Northwest region, says that “The hiring of this seasoned industrial team underscores Cushman & Wakefield's commitment to continue its growth in the Sacramento—Central Valley market under the leadership of Ron Thomas. Ron and his eight person office team joined Cushman & Wakefield from Colliers earlier this year to fulfill a major role in the company's plans to strengthen its market presence throughout the Northern California region.”

Cologna and MacDonald specialize in representing tenants, owners, developers and investors of properties ranging from multi-tenant industrial parks to large, single-tenant distribution centers, as well as land and investment transactions. Additionally, both are actively involved in Global Logistics and Food Processing Practice Groups, according to a prepared statement.

Working together as a team, Cologna and MacDonald have completed some of the region's largest industrial leases and sales involving more than 530 transactions totaling in excess of 7.3 million square feet of commercial space. The team’s most notable transactions include a 780,000-square-foot lease involving Sears Logistics in Stockton, CA; a 332,000-square-foot sale for Neenah Paper Facility in Ripon, CA; a 250,000-square-foot United Stationers lease in Sacramento; a 108,000-square-foot lease for Amerimax in Sacramento; and one of the only industrial land sales in the Sacramento area this year, Nippon Shokken, totaling 14 acres.

Also joining Cushman & Wakefield with Cologna and MacDonald is Amy Ruiz who will support the team as a marketing specialist. Ruiz brings more than 13 years of commercial real estate experience to the office and has been supporting Cologna and MacDonald with marketing and research since 2007.
