SANTA CLARA, CA-KPMG LLC has signed a long-term lease for 78,000 square feet at Equity Office’s Mission Towers I in Santa Clara, CA. The accounting firm has been a long time tenant of Equity Office and move from its existing space at Equity Office’s Mountain View Gateway property in the fourth quarter.

Its new 78,000-square-foot lease at 3975 Freedom Circle represents approximately 25% of the 12-story class A office building. “KPMG has been a great partner of Equity Office in Silicon Valley and we are pleased that they have been elected to stay in the Equity Office portfolio,” says John Moe, market managing director of Equity Office.

Mission Towers I totals 293,000 square feet of leasable class A office space with frontage on Highway 101 at Great America Parkway and easy access to major transportation including San Jose International Airport. The building is also close to the Santa Clara Convention Center. Designed by Hellmuth Obata + Kassabaum Inc., the building features a two-story lobby. Amenities include a fitness center with new equipment, showers, and lockers.

KPMG LLC was represented by Ken Gilbert of CB Richard Ellis. Todd Hedrick of Equity Office represented the landlord.

Equity Office could not provide further lease terms to GlobeSt.com at this time, but the company has been busy. Just recently, as GlobeSt.com reported, it executed a long term lease with Symantec Corp. to occupy a full building of 135,000 square feet at Mountain View Gateway Center, at 500 E. Middlefield Rd. in Mountain View, CA. The technology giant is expected to take occupancy sometime in the second quarter 2012.

KPMG also has been busy expanding in the past year or so. As GlobeSt.com previously reported, in 2010, KPMG moved part of its Washington, DC operations--375 positions--to its office in Tysons Corner, VA, taking an additional four floors at 1676 International Dr., owned by Brandywine Realty.
