Opus To Build $108M Apartment Tower

MINNEAPOLIS-The 33-story tower, going up at the corner of Nicollet Mall and South Fifth Street, will be the first new high-rise rental building in the downtown in nearly 30 years.

MINNEAPOLIS-Opus Development Corp. has announced plans to build a new 33-story apartment tower downtown for $108 million. The$108 million property, temporarily dubbed Nicollet Residences, will be constructed atop a six-story parking garage at a vacant lot at the corner of Nicollet Mall and South Fifth Street.

The company will meet with the city Planning Commission Committee of the Whole at 4:30 p.m. today to discuss the project. Tom Lund, an Opus VP, tells GlobeSt.com that the meeting is a formality. “We’re in good shape as far as zoning,” he says.
