OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL-BCS Financial Corp. has expanded its corporate headquarters at 2 Mid America Plaza. As part of a business-wide growth strategy, the insurance company took an additional 11,000 square feet at the 203,595-square-foot property, increasing the size of its offices there by more than one-third.

According to Studley, which represented BCS, the insurance company is now the largest tenant in the building. The company now occupies the entire second floor and part of the third floor, comprising roughly 43,000 square feet in total.

Studley senior managing directors Lyle Levin and Kevin McLennan negotiated the transaction on behalf of BCS Financial. Pete Adamo and William Elwood of CB Richard Ellis represented the landlord, Teachers Retirement System of the State of Illinois.

“BCS Financial has been a client of Studley’s for more than 15 years, and the company was seeking to upgrade its existing space to a ‘best-in-class’ standard, while expanding to accommodate headcount growth,” Levin says. “We were very pleased to be able to renegotiate the lease so that our client can continue to grow the business at this excellent location.”

2 Mid America Plaza is one of two granite-clad, class-A office buildings located on Route 83 in suburban Oakbrook Terrace, directly across from the Oakbrook Center Mall and 18 miles from downtown Chicago, according to Studley. Managed by KBS Realty Advisors, the complex offers multiple landscaped terraces, 24-hour security, ATM facilities and free covered parking.

Studley tells GlobeSt.com that it cannot disclose any further details about the lease or lease terms due to a confidentiality provision. CBRE did not respond to GlobeSt.com queries by deadline for further information.
