Thomas Monoghan, the founder of Domino's Pizza, is getting into burgers. The businessman is launching a chain called Gyrene Hamburger that will begin a foray into hamburger delivery, much like he did with pizza years ago.

This sounds like a good enough plan we could see people getting into. According to Monoghan, burgers are more popular than pizza. If that's really the case, then delivery would totally make sense, and we aren't sure why this hasn't happened yet.

He is readying his first location in Naples, FL.

One thing that we noticed though, in the above-linked Naples News article is how lean of an operation this is going to be, though. Maybe too lean.

"Gyrene Hamburger will only sell hamburgers, which will make the operation run more efficiently and speed delivery. There will be no sides and no drinks."

How is that going to fly? It seems that fries as a side with hamburgers is such a traditional pairing that people could get turned off. Also, there will only be two burger choices: A plain one and a bacon cheeseburger. In this time of delivery places going way over the top with add ons, hello breadbowl pasta, it is nice to see something focused. But we think people are going to want fries and drinks.

Overall, though, hamburger delivery sounds like a promising concept. What do you think of Monoghan's plan?
