EDISON, NJ-A team of five veteran office brokerage professionals have departed Jones Lang LaSalle to join Cushman & Wakefield’s office here, with a special goal to focus on the central portion of the state, GlobeSt.com has learned exclusively.
The team, headed by executive vp Paul Giannone, also consists of: Paul Hindes, executive director; Kevin Carton, senior director; Todd Elfand, senior director; and Charles Cavallo, associate director. The group has completed billions of dollars in lease and sales transactions, working with such owners as Boston Properties, M. Alfieri, Atlantic Realty Development and Vision Equities, the company says.
“I’ve been in the business for 25 years completing with Cushman & Wakefield, and admiring the brand,” Giannone, formerly a managing director at JLL, tells GlobeSt.com. “They had a need in the Central New Jersey office, and there is a lot of synergy between our team and theirs.”
The move represents “one of Cushman & Wakefield’s most strategic regional hires in recent history,” according to Joseph Harbert, Cushman & Wakefield’s chief operating officer, New York Metropolitan Region, in a statement.
Recruiting the team was part of an effort to “transform our New Jersey operation,” says Gualberto “Gil” Medina, Cushman & Wakefield’s New Jersey executive managing director.
“The real challenge in our business is to be able to attract professionals who are extremely talented, with a high level of integrity and who can work together as a team,” Medina says. “We’re extremely fortunate.”
Giannone is a certified commercial investment manager, Hindes is a certified public accountant, and Carton is a former real estate appraiser. The team’s goal now, Giannone says, is to “take advantage of the improving market conditions, expand the Cushman & Wakefield brand and gain market share.”
