Clunky Programs I decided a couple of days ago that the world does not need another commentary about Steve Jobs, so for the past couple of days I have been rummaging around for another topical issue on the real estate front for this week’s column. That was until I read an article that included sentimental comments, and a personal reflection about Jobs, by Bill Gates. It made me wonder how Gates feels today. Does he wonder if the world will idolize him when he passes on? Surely he does, and he’ll certainly get front cover coverage in the world’s press. Yes, he’s brilliant, perhaps more brilliant than Jobs, and yes, Gates will forever be remembered. Yet Steve Jobs transformed our world and improved our lives. Gates capitalized on a technology transition, and alas, in the end, provided us with a bunch of clunky programs. Jobs left us with perfection.
