IRVINE, CA-GlobeSt.com has learned from James A. McShane, CEO of the McShane Cos. that John A. Dobrott has been appointed president of the industrial division for McShane Development Co. Formerly the firm’s senior vice president, Dobrott will oversee McShane Development’s industrial real estate development activities throughout the western and southwestern regions and within the State of Texas.

He will continue to office within the firm’s Irvine, CA regional office providing strategic management of McShane’s land holdings, build-to-suit opportunities, leasing and disposition activities. Dobrott joined McShane Development as vice president in October 2006. He was subsequently promoted to SVP in early 2009.

Under Dobrott’s direction, the firm has developed numerous high-profile industrial business parks and turnkey developments including the multi-building KeyStone West Business Park, the 820,000-square-foot build-to-suit for W.W. Grainger Inc. and a 400,000-square-foot tenant suite for Affinia Group Inc. in Patterson, CA; the development and subsequent sale of the Amazon.com distribution center in Reno, NV; the recent full-building 253,838-square-foot lease in Houston to Forum Energy Technologies; and numerous leases and sales transactions at the firm’s properties in Austin, TX. Dobrott is currently launching a well-positioned 84-acre industrial business park in Redlands, California, located within the heart of the growing Inland Empire.

“Dobrott has demonstrated strong leadership and visionary insights in his role at McShane Development Co.” says McShane. “We acknowledge his dedication to our continued success in the industrial market and his direction and strategies to maintain our position as a national real estate development firm. Our commitment to the industrial sector and our confidence that this market is beginning to recover allows Dobrott to continue his successful track record in an expanded role at McShane.”
