OAKLAND, CA-Jones Lang LaSalle has added East Bay broker Sid Ewing as senior vice president. He will continue to focus on the Oakland market, where he will work closely with JLL’s Oakland team, led by Sam Swan and Jon Elder.

Ewing will help to further develop the firm’s already strong presence in the Oakland metro region. Tom Maloney, JLL’s managing director for the East Bay says that “Sid brings significant experience and a successful track record of providing great service to his clients. He has worked with many of the largest landlords and tenants in the Oakland market over many years.”

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Ewing spent 18 years with CBRE where he was recognized as a top performer multiple times, according to a prepared statement. Active in commercial real estate in the Bay Area since 1991, Ewing has guided some of the largest office lease transactions in the East Bay in recent years and was an advisor in the 2010 purchase of Oakland’s City Center.

In the last five years, Ewing has handled transactions totalling more than 9.7 million square feet and valued at approximately $725 million. In addition to the sale of City Center, he has advised on the sale of Safeway‘s corporate headquarters, Lake Merritt Tower I and II—a development site—and the Ordway building in Oakland. He has represented the buyer or seller in more than 50 sales or purchases in Oakland and the East Bay in the last 10 years.

Ewing has also handled several major lease transactions in the East Bay’s lifescience sector, advising tenants such as Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories as well as major lab developers such as Wareham Development.
