TRENTON-Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) to serve as the exclusive leasing agent for Technology Centre of New Jersey at US Highway One South in New Brunswick, NJ, and Waterfront Technology Center at 200 Federal Street in Camden, NJ, its state-of-the-art lab and research portfolio located in New Jersey’s research corridor.
Both facilities are located in Edison Innovation Zones, geographically defined areas established to spur collaboration among the state’s public research institutions, medical research facilities and technology businesses. Several EDA technology financing and incentive programs are available to companies located within these zones.
“As the state’s ‘Research Corridor’ continues to grow, both established companies and young, growing firms are in search of high-end, customizable facilities,” said JLL senior VP Jim Medenbach in a press release. Medenbach will coordinate Jones Lang LaSalle brokerage teams located in the firm’s Northern/Central and Southern New Jersey offices. “These properties, along with potential incentives by the NJEDA, are ideally suited to meet that demand for fostering innovation and new discoveries.”
Set on more than 50 acres between Rutgers and Princeton Universities, the 325,000-square-foot Technology Centre of New Jersey was designed to meet the needs of emerging research and development companies in the biosciences, microelectronics, advanced materials and communications technologies industries. Currently available are stand-alone facilities available from 5,000 square feet to 60,000 square feet that can accommodate state-of-the-art clean rooms and wet labs.
Tenants include Anthem Institute, Chromocell Corporation, Merial Limited, and Rutgers Technology Center II — home to WINLAB and Energy Storage Research Group.
Businesses at the five-story, 100,000-square-foot Waterfront Technology Center at Camden are in the biosciences, microelectronics, advanced materials, information technology and other high-tech and life sciences fields.
According to NJEDA’s web site, available spaces are LEED Gold certified with 100% outside air. A large first floor conference room is available to all tenants.
“These are first-rate sites with exceptional lab space in well-located innovation hub areas,” Medenbach said. “Both properties are ideally suited for life sciences companies and foster collaboration by providing strategic access to the state's prominent public research institutions, medical research facilities and other technology firms.”
