PLEASANTON, CA-Stoneridge Creek, a continuing care retirement community, recently broke ground. The new community will be built on a 46-acre campus located at 3300 Stoneridge Creek Way off Stoneridge Dr. here.

The owner/operator of Stoneridge Creek is Carlsbad, CA-based Continuing Life Communities. According to Troy Bourne, vice president at CLC, many of the future residents of Stoneridge Creek have waited years for the groundbreaking and “actively helped the community achieve final approvals.”

To date, more than two-thirds of the homes in Stoneridge Creek’s first phase have been reserved, reflecting a strong interest in the community and its accompanying lifestyle, according to Bourne. He attributes the strong demand to “a combination of high-quality homes in a great location, as well as convenient services and amenities—including fine dining and the peace of mind that comes from knowing long-term care is available if it’s ever needed.”

Designed by the architectural firm of Van Tilburg Banvard & Sodenburg, of Santa Monica, CA, the community will offer up to 635 independent living residences, including single-story villas. Bourne says that construction of the community’s new homes and common buildings will begin in the first quarter of 2012. The first residents are expected to move in during the second half of 2013.

Stoneridge Creek will also offer a state-of-the-art health center located adjacent to the main campus. The health center will consist of 68 assisted living apartments with a dedicated memory support area as well as 73 skilled nursing beds. The health center will be licensed by the state’s Department of Health Services and Department of Social Services and will be open to the general public as well as Stoneridge Creek residents.
