SAN DIEGO-Real estate investment and management company Glenborough has awarded Jones Lang LaSalle the leasing assignment for the Aventine, a 217,000-square-foot class A La Jolla office building. JLL EVPs Tony Russell and Bess Wakeman will represent Glenborough in all new office leasing transactions.

The JLL team has created a new marketing center on the ground floor of the office building and display banners throughout the Aventine “touting the property’s unique work-play-stay attributes,” according to a prepared statement. “This well-known, exceptional mixed-use development epitomizes the work-play-stay lifestyle that promotes employee well-being and contributes to higher employee retention,” says Russell.

He adds that “In addition to infusing our leasing plan with creative marketing ideas, we are able to leverage the depth of our local and global capital markets team to enhance the long term investment value of the asset. Jones Lang LaSalle’s collaborative approach supports our efforts to provide the most effective leasing strategies for this property.” Russell could not provide further information on any of its other strategies at this time.

Russell tells GlobeSt.com that lease rates at the building are $2.65 per square foot full service. He also points out that occupancy when JLL was awarded the contract was 68% and is now at 75%. Major tenants include Center for Creative Leadership, NY Life and Ameriprise.

In addition to the office building, the Aventine complex, located at 8910 University Center Ln. in the Golden Triangle, includes the Sporting Club, a health and fitness club with a pool and tennis courts; four fine dining restaurants including Flemings Prime Steak House and Caf
