PERTH AMBOY, NJ-Bunzl Northeast has signed a 132,410-square-foot lease at Perth Amboy Business Park, a 450,000-square-foot industrial complex here owned by Matrix Development Group and Morgan Stanley, Matrix says.
Bunzl Northeast, a national distributor of outsourced food products, disposable supplies and cleaning and safety products, signed a seven-year lease for a space featuring 8,000 square feet of offices, with the remainder consisting of warehouse space.
“The strategic location of this property continues to be a strong factor in attracting tenants to this complex,” says Russell Tepper, VP of development at Matrix Development Group, in a statement. “We are confident that Bunzl’s distribution operations will directly benefit from the complex’s proximity to numerous main thoroughfares and the port.”
Perth Amboy Business Park consists of two distribution and light industrial facilities on 26 acres. The rent was not disclosed, but industrial rates in Perth Amboy range from $6 per square foot to $16 per square foot, according to LoopNet.
“We see this activity as further indication of the improving industrial market in Central and Northern New Jersey,” Tepper added.
Bunzl was represented by Cassidy Turley’s Jonathan B. Tesser, senior VP and principal, and Mark T. Sonnenberg, principal and director of industrial sales and leasing.
