DALLAS-T5 Data Centers, a data center operator, owner and developer, recently revealed its latest project, T5@Dallas, which will be located at Legacy In Plano, a master-planned business, retail and residential park located in Plano, TX, a suburb of Dallas. T5 Data Centers, in partnership with Lincoln Property Co., will deliver a fully equipped and operational “wholesale” data center consisting of 129,000 square feet of raised floor and 18 MWs of critical power at full build-out.

Phase 1 will deliver 3 MWs of critical power by June of 2012, according to a prepared statement. T5@Dallas is a 150,000-square-foot “purpose-built” data center shell built on a 20-acre site.

The structurally enhanced concrete facility is designed to withstand winds up to 175 miles per hour, says the release. The facility will provide up to 30 megawatts of redundant power fed from diverse substations.

Although Jason Chartrand, EVP of T5 Data Centers tells GlobeSt.com that he cannot disclose any construction cost details, he points out that T5@Dallas is actually already constructed, but they are commencing the interior build-out of the data center, which accounts for 90% of the total construction cost.

“In addition to being a great location for business, Dallas/Fort Worth has also established itself as one of the country’s premier locations for highly critical data center operations,” explains Pete Marin, president of T5 in a prepared statement. “Couple this with corporate America’s growing demand for ‘purpose built’ data center space and T5@Dallas further solidifies our position as a premier data center operator with a national footprint.”

Lincoln Property Co. will assist in the development of the facility and will be responsible for the local marketing of the project. “Today’s data center users are not only searching for robust and secure environments but first class locations as well. T5@Dallas will be the best data center in the best location for business in Texas,” explains Martin Peck, senior vice president for Lincoln Property Co.

T5 will develop the building in several phases delivering 3 MW of critical power in Phase 1 by June of 2012. Leasing activity is currently underway. Each data suite will have secure and separate raised floor space separated from other tenants by way of slab to deck fire-rated walls, which provides an extra layer of physical security and autonomy not otherwise available in the market. T5’s design and MEP architecture allows tenants to have secure and dedicated electrical, mechanical, and fiber infrastructure.
