ELMWOOD PARK, NJ-Langan Energy Solutions, an Elmwood Park, NJ-based solar integrator and energy efficiency company and Amberjack Solar Energy, an Oakland, NJ-based solar integrator, recently formed a strategic alliance. And it was formed in part through the companies’ mutual accountant, George Livanos of Sax Macy Fromm & Co.
Under the agreement, LES provides new business leads for solar projects to Amberjack Solar on projects for which they perform the energy efficiency work; and Amberjack Solar will provide new business leads for energy efficiency projects to Langan Energy Solutions on projects for which they perform the solar work. The alliance began three months ago, LES president Joseph Langan tells GlobeSt.com.
“Solar is morphing into what it will be for a while,” given the state’s recent release of its latest Energy Master Plan, the Solyndra power company scandal, and changes in the SREC market, Langan says. An expert in solar power, he knew, would help boost his business. “My accountant, George Livanos, said ‘You should look to these guys.’”
LES, he says, “was like a tween in this business,” with access to large companies but by choice without full capabilities in the solar arena, including installation. “And they can get much better pricing than I can.”
For its part, Amberjack has access to LES’ large network of contacts. The result: three signed contracts and several more in negotiation. “We're excited about our partnership with Langan Energy,” says Lance Kulick, founder of Amberjack Solar, in a statement. "Our companies will be able to benefit from one another's expertise and resources, and better serve our customers. This a win-win situation for us and our clients."
The agreement is open-ended. “It’s all good so far,” Langan says. “All of the reasons I did this seem to be working fine.”
