ST. LOUIS-Cassidy Turley was selected by Equity Office Properties to manage and/or lease approximately 3 million square feet class A office space in three markets in the Midwestern and Southern US, according to a prepared statement. The majority of the properties are part of the Blackstone Group’s recent acquisition of Duke Realty’s 10 million-square-foot suburban office portfolio, that GlobeSt.com recently reported on.

Specifically, in Columbus, Ohio, Cassidy Turley will manage 19 office buildings totaling 2 million square feet; the firm will also lease 11 of these buildings, which total 1.1 million square feet. In addition, the company will manage two class A office properties in Minneapolis totaling 500,000 square feet and lease six office buildings totaling 430,000 square feet in Dallas.

Cassidy Turley will start work sometime in December 2011. “Given the fact that office portfolios of this size do not come to market that often, we are excited to be selected by Equity Office Properties to manage and lease this space across three markets,” explains Dean Mueller, president of investor services at Cassidy Turley. “Our ability to quickly transition such a large portfolio – combined with our knowledge of these local markets—will help create value and ensure Equity Office’s operations strategy is well supported.”

Chris Hendricks, marker managing director of EOP says that “This is a large portfolio and we know Cassidy Turley will provide outstanding property management and leasing services. Cassidy Turley has a strong presence in the Midwestern and Southern U.S. and their expertise in these three markets will not only benefit our business needs, but importantly, it will benefit the tenants of these premier office properties.”

Bret Bunnett, regional managing principal in Dallas and Randy Stephens, SVP and principal, in Columbus, both of Cassidy Turley, were instrumental in securing the assignment, which involved an interview process including four major national competitors.
