This isn't just a McDonald's/Burger King/Wendy's game any more. Now there are all sorts of burger chains, many of them high end, opening their doors around the country.
Shake Shack, which just opened a Brooklyn, NY, location is making headway outside of New York with locations in Miami, Washington DC, Connecticut and the Middle East. In-N-Out Burger, a favorite of the West Coast, is making its way east and now has locations in Texas.
It's not just the well-known larger regionals that are expanding, though. Burger Business recently put out a list of 12 smaller burger chains to watch in the coming year.
