LOS ANGELES-GlobeSt.com has exclusively learned that Jones Lang LaSalle has appointed Peter Belisle as market director charged with overseeing the firm’s business across the Southwest region, which includes Las Vegas, the Los Angeles area, Orange County, Phoenix, and San Diego. Belisle will be based in the Los Angeles office.

Jan Pope, who was previously in the position, has been named the head of corporate solutions in the west region. Both Pope and Belisle, who have held numerous leadership roles at the firm, will assume their respective positions immediately.

“Jan and Peter are two tremendously talented individuals who have the client focus, expertise and insight to take Jones Lang LaSalle to the next level in terms of delivering even more value to our clients,” says John Gates, managing director of markets west at JLL. “Peter’s deep understanding of the market, exemplary leadership capabilities and extensive knowledge of all that our firm offers will help drive the growth we need in this vital region.”

Gates continues that Belisle “has worked in Los Angeles for most of his career, knows the region, understands the needs of occupiers and investors, and has the broad experience that this role requires. Both Peter and Jan are uniquely suited to their new roles.”

Pope will be responsible for continuing to deliver the value-added integrated real estate services that corporate clients need to further their business, according to JLL. She will also be responsible for “creating stronger partnerships between the firm’s markets organization and its corporate solutions clients to ensure that they are benefitting from the whole Jones Lang LaSalle platform.” As the Southwest market director since 2008, Pope was instrumental in driving growth and expanding business lines, says JLL. “With her oversight, the firm’s property management portfolio doubled and the landlord leasing portfolio grew more than 400% during her tenure as market director.”

Bill Thummel, COO of corporate solutions says that “Jan has helped make Jones Lang LaSalle a dominant firm in the Southwest region…Her intimate knowledge of both the markets organization and our corporate solutions platform makes her the ideal person to create stronger connections, find efficiencies and further help our corporate clients find savings. This is a win-win situation for all of our clients.”

Belisle joined JLL in 2000 from the Walt Disney Co. where he served as the director of development and program management with responsibility for more than $230 million of international development. Most recently, he served as the president of JLL’s energy and sustainability services overseeing more than 90 professionals in the US. Prior to that, he served as the president of JLL’s project and development services group overseeing more than 1,200 project managers responsible for assignments with an aggregate construction value of more than $20 billion.

Prior to her market director role, Pope served as co-president of the firm’s US tenant representation group and spent 10 years in Northern California, expanding the firm’s footprint. Prior to her tenure at JLL, she held various senior management positions with IBM. In her last position with IBM, she was responsible for $1.6 billion in annual revenue in 10 western states.
