LONG GROVE, IL-ACCO Brands Corp., which is engaged in an $860 million takeover of MeadWestvaco Corp.’s Consumer & Office Products business, has announced it has signed a lease to move to a three-story office building here as its new headquarters. The company is expanding by taking the entire 189,092-square-foot Four Corporate Drive building at Kemper Lakes Business Center.

The firm was in 400 Tower Pkwy. in Lincolnshire, IL, and is expanding by 20,000-square-feet in this new lease. An ACCO spokesman tells GlobeSt.com that the merger with MeadWestvaco is fueling the move. “We’ve done well despite the recession,” he says. “With the acquisition, we’re going to be a much larger company. Our lease was up in 2013, and this new headquarters property is convenient for our employee base, and has enough raw space to configure to our current needs, as well as a significant package of amenities not offered at our current location.”

Philadelphia-based BPG Properties Ltd. owns the Kemper Lakes complex, a 1.1-million-square-foot, four-building office park here. Insurance claims management firm Crawford and Co. had operated out of the Four Corporate building, but has since moved out. BPG has completed more than $35 million in capital improvements at the complex since it was purchased in 2005.

Lou Hall with Cushman & Wakefield represented the ACCO in the new 10-year lease. Steve Kling and Dave Florent with Colliers International represented BPG.
