TORSLANDA, SWEDEN-Volvo Cars Corp., based here, has hired Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle to provide corporate real estate services. The two companies working on real estate projects across Belgium, Sweden, North America and Japan.
The task for JLL will be to provide advice to improve Volvo’s existing property portfolio, including leased and owned properties, around the world. It’s not clear how much space the company is working on. A JLL spokeswoman has not returned a request for comment on this question.
In a statement, Vincent Lottefier with JLL’s EMEA office, said these types of outsourcing agreements to handle commercial real estate for companies is becoming increasingly common. “It is a constant challenge for large corporations to review and manage their real estate portfolio to make sure all aspects of it fit with their business strategy,” he said. “Working with one brand enables clients to have quick access to a range of specialists under one roof. This in turn can generate economies of scale and strong relationships, which is essential when the world’s economies and markets are evolving at pace.”
In the past year, JLL has been hired to provide corporate services for companies such as Harris Bank and HSBC.
