NEW YORK CITY-Cost overruns at the World Trade Center just got larger by millions of dollars, the public has heard through a story by the New York Post, because of a simple design flaw.

The Post said Tuesday that Patrick Foye, executive director of the Port Authority, revealed Tuesday that a delay of a loading dock at One World Trade Center will force the construction of five temporary loading bays above ground. A subway station for the Trans Hudson has yet to be finished, and a temporary station is blocking access to the loading dock location.

The costs for the WTC complex have soared to $3.8 billion, about $700 million more than the last estimate revealed four years ago. Foye said a review of costs will be included in an agency report to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The complex also faces various time limits for leasing that has or could halt construction, the report said. You can read the Post story by clicking here.
