COPENHAGEN, DENMARK-The government here has sold two buildings of the former Royal Danish Conservatory of Music property here to locally based Saxo Bank, which joined with London-based Meghraj in the purchase. The 82,000-square-foot buildings were built in the early 1900s.
The subsidiary Saxo Properties plans to spend about $14 million to redevelop buildings for office use. The properties are at the corner of HC Andersens Boulevard and Niels Brocks Gade 1. The modern conservatory moved into renovated properties in 2008.
Freja A/S represented the government in the sale. Karen Mosbech, CEO of the company, said in a statement that city will gain a valuable new commercial building. Aarstiderne Arkitekter is assisting on the renovation, and marketing of the project has already begun. The price of the sale was undisclosed.
