NEW YORK CITY-The high-tech and media boom in Midtown South’s Flatiron District has attracted one of Brooklyn’s top developers to the neighborhood. Two Trees Management Co., the development firm known for the revitalization of DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights, is taking on its first commercial office project at 50 W. 23rd St.

Teaming up with the design services of Leeser Architecture, the firm has rolled out phase I of a multi-million dollar renovation to the 13-story, 340,000-square-foot building, which will include improvements to the lobby, entrances, elevator cabs and facades.

“We couldn’t be more excited to revitalize such a prized property and provide our tenants with the best this building has to offer,” says Jed Walentas, principal of Two Trees, in a statement, noting that the 1900s-era property is “one-of-a-kind” and presents an “incredible opportunity” to upgrade a “remarkable building in one of New York’s most historic and influential neighborhoods.”
