Chicago’s Plan For Economic Growth Unveiled

CHICAGO-City mayor Rahm Emanuel unveiled Chicago’s Plan for Economic Growth today – a strategy developed at his behest by World Business Chicago and a steering committee. The plan aims to make Chicago a global player by creating jobs, increasing productivity and upping wages, according to the mayor’s press office.

The Plan presents ten key strategies that aim to advance Chicago’s economy and create more area jobs including pushing the city forward as a center for advanced manufacturing, supporting entrepreneurship in emerging sectors and creating a business-friendly environment. Additionally, the growth plan will support transportation and logistics, infrastructure and neighborhood assets. It further calls for improvements to area tourism and entertainment.
