AMSTERDAM-Interstate Hotels & Resorts, based in Arlington, VA, has opened its second new hotel here, the 252-room Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam-Sloterdijk Station. A joint venture of Interstate and locally-based TVHG Budget Group Beheer BV announced in September that it will open nine hotels across the country, for a total 1,800 rooms.

The hotel is adjacent to Sloterdijk Station, one of the main train stations of the country. Amenities at the property include a large lounge, a lobby bar, Wi-Fi and free breakfast. Interstate company will operate the hotels under long-term contracts, according to a statement.

The venture said it plans to open the hotels near transportation hubs such as railways or airports, branded with the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn by Hilton. Leslie Ng, CIO at Interstate, said in a statement that the company is geared to make selective investments in key markets. The firm’s other Netherland property is the already-open 112-room Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam Schiphol.

Interstate is a subsidiary of a joint venture of Thayer Lodging and China-based Jin Jiang. The company manages or has ownership interests in nearly 400 hotels, with ownership of 58 of the properties. The firm’s current management pipeline includes 37 hotels now under construction.
