WASHINGTON, DC-The federal government has acquired Columbia Plaza in Foggy Bottom for $100 million. The 511,000-square-foot office building has been accommodating the State Department for the past two decades.

General Services Administration wanted to own federal buildings that are fully occupied by government agencies. Columbia Plaza, located at 2401 E St. NW, is near the headquarters of the State Department and is fully leased to the agency.
