SAN DIEGO-Voit Real Estate Services continues on a strong growth path, having added another five top-producing, former Grubb & Ellis brokers to its roster here. According to Voit’s managing director Chris Wood, the company’s growth projections for this market are on track, and other California offices continue to grow as well.

As GlobeSt.com exclusively reported, last week Voit brought on three SVPs and a marketing assistant to its Inland Empire retail team with the addition of Tom Swieca, Tony Archer and Sandie Smith (all formerly with Grubb & Ellis) and Dianna Bernard. At that time, Mark Read, executive managing director for Voit, said, “The addition of this expert team is a testament to Voit’s success in recruiting and retaining top professionals in each of the markets we serve.”

This week, the company has hired former G&E executives Brandon Keith, Robert Vallera, Jeffery Chasan, Stephen Dok and Mathew Kennedy. Keith, who will be SVP specializing in industrial and office markets, was founder, president and managing broker of SD Commercial Realty Advisers Inc., which grew to be one of San Diego’s top-ten commercial brokerages, later merging with G&E in March 2010. Vallera, a SVP specializing in multifamily properties, was SDCRA’s founding principal and was named top-producing broker at G&E, having been ranked as the company’s second-best apartment broker nationwide. Chasan, SVP, served as a SVP at G&E, where he was recognized as a top producer in both 2010 and 2011; he is widely recognized as one of the top tenant-representation brokers in the area. Dok, who will be a VP specializing in healthcare and office properties, focused on the medical-office market and was a top producer at G&E from 2007 to 2009. Kennedy, an associate partnering with Vallera and specializing in multifamily properties, served as an apartment research associate at G&E.

“Voit’s depth of expertise and reputation in San Diego is rising,” says Wood. “We started with some of the best brokers in San Diego, and now we are attracting more top industry talent, which further solidifies our strength in the market.”

Wood contends that what brokers need is an environment in which they have all the tools to succeed, while also enjoying the freedom to build their own networks. “This is exactly the environment Voit provides—an entrepreneurial atmosphere with a strong, full-service platform and a wide variety of industry resources.”

He adds that while Voit’s competitors are cutting back, the company continues to invest in its people and platform, which is evidenced by its planned relocation and expansion to new facilities later this year. He notes that since joining Voit in 2010, his focus has been to drive the company’s growth in the quality of the services provided to its diversified client base.

Wood says that the firm intends to nearly double the size of its San Diego brokerage over the next two to three years, telling GlobeSt.com that the company will add not only new brokers, but also new asset and property-management specialists. “As we ramp up our tenant-rep platform, we expect to bring tenant-improvement construction-management in-house as well.”

He tells GlobeSt.com that with the addition of Vallera and Kennedy, Voit now has two multifamily brokers, something it hasn’t had in San Diego before. “In addition, we now have the top tenant-rep office specialist in San Diego (Jeffrey Chasan), which is complementary to the work we have been doing here in our office.” In addition to bringing on Dok and Keith as medical-office leasing specialists, the company is building a healthcare properties group to be led by Dok.
