SECAUCUS, NJ-Bergman Real Estate Group, owner of a building in Harmon Cove in Secaucus, has signed a 23,451-square-foot lease with data service provider ZT Group International. The expansion tenant was secured less than three months after science/technology publisher Springer Verlag vacated the space to consolidate in Manhattan.

"When we were informed that an existing tenant had decided to relocate to New York, it created an opportunity to lease the space for a longer term, with no downtime and minimal construction," says John G. Osborne, executive director of leasing and marketing for Bergman. "With ZT Group seeking to expand upon its nearby headquarters, it was an ideal situation for all parties involved."

ZT Group will remain based at 350 Meadowlands Parkway, part of the 980-acre Harmon Cove campus developed and still mostly owned by Hartz Mountain Industries. Bergman bought 330 Meadowlands Parkway from Hartz in 2006, Osborne says. The most prominent tenant in the area is Panasonic Corp., which leases its 1 million-square-foot US headquarters at 1 Meadowlands Parkway from Hartz, but is set to relocate to a new building in Newark by 2014.
