SECAUCUS, NJ-River Drive Construction Co. recently completed a $1.5 million renovation of an entire floor at the Children's Place national headquarters, located at 500 Plaza Dr. in Secaucus.
The recent project began in mid-February and took approximately eight weeks to complete. "We were able to work around the company's working hours to finish the project on time, within budget and with minimal disruption to business operations,” says Joseph Langan, president of the Elmwood Park-based construction company.
Daniel Goldmeier of River Drive tells GlobeSt.com that his company did initial renovations three years ago for Childrens Place at the Secaucus headquarters, where it occupies four floors. The most recent renovation created a new design center, and further renovations are planned to other floors.
“The renovation has many phases,” Goldmeier says. “This part was especially exciting for us because it involved following architectural plans creating space for retail-oriented designers to do their work. The store-design floor includes a ‘mock store’ where The Children’s Place designers can play around with different design elements.”
Hartz Mountain Industries owns the 12-story Plaza Drive property. Other tenants include Acs Eastern Telecom, a private telephone company; AXA Advisors, which provides financial services; AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company; and Scarinci Hollenbeck Attorneys-at-Law.
"River Drive has done another tremendous job renovating The Children's Place," says Emanuel Stern, president and chief operating officer of Hartz, in a statement. "We are very pleased that this company was able to maximize utility for one of our biggest tenants at 500 Plaza Drive. We look forward to seeing the fruits of the next phase of renovation."
The Children's Place retail stores employ more than 5,000 people at more than 950 stores.
