SANTA CLARA, CA-Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank has added another 28 former Grubb & Ellis brokers to its roster, bringing its total strength to 310 agents in Northern California. The new agents will join the company’s offices in Emeryville, Hayward, Roseville, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Mateo, Walnut Creek and here. The Emeryville, Sacramento, Walnut Creek and Santa Clara offices have expanded within their current locations to accommodate the new brokers.
All new agents will be fully integrated into C&CCNKF operations, and former Northern California G&E offices will all close permanently. The majority of the former G&E brokers joining C&CCNKF are senior agents, receiving titles of VP, SVP or EVP. C&CCNKF is based here and also has offices in Marin, Palo Alto, Pleasanton and Santa Rosa, CA.
Among the new hires are Daniel Cressman, executive managing director, who along with Michael Taquino and Kyle Kovac, will be based in the San Francisco office; and in Walnut Creek, Rick Steffens, SVP, and Knute Bucklew, VP, who join the firm’s office leasing and sales group, and Adria Giacomelli, senior associate, the retail division.
“I am truly ecstatic about Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank’s future,” said Chuck Seufferlein, president and CEO of the brokerage, in a prepared statement. “The opportunity for a commercial real estate firm to hire a large number of highly regarded, quality agents at one time is extremely rare.”
Seufferlein tells GlobeSt.com that any time a firm can hire 30 agents for a 10% increase in sales force, it makes for a significant opportunity. “We’re excited about having these guys and gals join us. It fills some nice voids in our offices and complements our existing sales force in a good way.”
Seufferlein adds that the company tries to complement and add employees when and where it can, even adding offices in areas where they are needed. “For the most part, our Northern California platform is in place; it’s just a matter of infill, and in one fell swoop we were able to do that. We’ve added agents all told in about seven of our offices.”
As GlobeSt.com previously reported, in March 2010 Cornish & Carey expanded on several fronts in Northern California, adding new offices in Larkspur and Santa Rosa in the North Bay region and bringing on a new leased investment group in San Francisco. At the time, the new Larkspur and Santa Rosa offices realized "a 10-year strategic business plan to expand into the North Bay,” according to Seufferlein. “Establishing a presence in this important region completes our Northern California footprint,” Seufferlein said, noting that C&C already maintained offices in 11 other cities.
